Freightliner Trucks Get Navteq-enabled Predictive Cruise Control

Freightliner Trucks, a subsidiary of Daimler, has announced the availability of its RunSmart Predictive Cruise system. Using GPS and 3D map data from NAVTEQ, RunSmart looks up to one mile ahead of a truck’s current location and taking into account road grades, adjusts the cruise control speed for the most fuel-efficient performance.
